Performances are a lovely way for you to watch and enjoy your child’s progress. Performances for members of the Jane Grech Dance Club are in keeping with the age of the students, and run very differently to that of a ‘traditional’ dance performance. Performances are:
- Informal and in a local setting
- Has the teacher on stage or nearby to guide and encourage
- An opportunity for students to watch each other. Students sit at the front of the audience and enjoy performance as well. We find provides a more positive experience than being ‘hushed’ in the side of the theatre and made to sit in the dark. The added benefit of this is that we do not require parents to help supervise backstage.
- Costumes are organised by JGDC at a minimal cost, normally around $50. These are yours to keep following the performance.
Although participation in the Annual Concerts is not compulsory, we have always found that taking part is a wonderful experience for all students. It is through the annual performances that students can gain a great sense of achievement & confidence performing in front of a live audience and have a lot of fun while doing so.
